Indore | The commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh has always been in NEWS for its over enthusiastic people, in one or the other way. But this time, they have shown their over enthusiasm in a wrong manner.
In his address to the nation, couple of days ago, PM Narendra Modi has requested the nation to keep social distancing and a complete lockdown for a day throughout the nation today. He coined a term “Janta Curfew” for this day. Moving a step ahead, he requested the citizens to come to their balcony and beat either utensils or bell as a thanksgiving to the doctors and other health workers who have been contributing to the society in this crucial time.
But the people of Indore, instead of just limiting it to their balconies, have come on to streets and instead of maintaining social distancing, have come on streets in huge numbers which has to be avoided in current scenario.
Similar videos have appeared on social media from Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and other metro cities.
Not only did common people, but famous personalities like Amitabh Bacchan, Cabinet Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya committed similar mistakes and made fun of “Janta Curfew”
People should understand the importance of social distancing during these times, and shall not be carried away just to gain traction as a PR strategy. These videos have once again proved that we as a nation, are not ready to understand the seriousness of this issue.
