A relative of cricketer Suresh Raina, died while four others of the family sustained injuries in an attack by robbers.
As per the police, the relative is identified as Ashok Kumar, who works as a government contractor. The incident took place on the night of August 19th at Thariyal village in Punjab’s Pathankot.
The victim is said to be cricketer’s uncle. Suresh Raina has left the IPL and is expected to visit the village.
Kumar’s elder brother Shyam Lal confirmed that the victim was the cricketer’s uncle. He said Raina is expected to visit the village.
As per the police statement, a notorious gang of “Kale Kachhewala” came there with an intention to loot, when then attacked Ashok Kumar and his family when the family was sleeping on the terrace of their house. Ashok suffered head injuries and died on the same night.
