World Health Organisation Agrees to Rahul Gandhi : Lockdown Just A ‘Pause’ Button

WHO has agreed upon what Rahul Gandhi has said in his press briefing a few days ago, about the lockdown. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, while addressing media last week via video conferencing, has said that the nation wide lockdown is not going to kill the virus, it will just put a pause button on its spread and the country needs further rigorous testing in order to control the virus.

Today, WHO, in its tweet has been seen as in agreement of what the congress leader has said about the lockdown.

In its tweet the top global health office has said, “So-called lockdowns can help to take the heat out of a country’s epidemic, but they cannot end it alone. Countries must now ensure they can detect, test, isolate and care for every case, and trace every contact.

Rahul earlier said that the testing strategy of the government was wrong and suggested to ramp up screening. He alleged that the government was delaying critical decisions.

Indian government has been blamed for reduced number of testing since the time of outbreak of the virus, as the testing numbers per million population comes out to be far less than the rate at which the rest of the world is testing.
