Amid the outbreak of Corona pandemic in the country, Indian government has been questioned all over the world on account of abrogation of religious freedom in the country.
Time and again, various agencies in the country and abroad have been highlighting the issue of religion freedom in the country, which is decreasing since the time the Modi government got re-elected last year.
Once again, USCIRF has put upon a report, in which it has lashed completely on the current BJP government over its right wing inclination, which is haunting religious freedom in the country.
In its report, the agency has said that the religious freedom conditions in India has experienced a drastic turn downwards since the time BJP got re-elected in May.
The report also added that the national government used its strengthened parliamentary majority to institute national level policies which are violating the religious freedom of the minorities especially Muslims.
The national government allowed violence against minorities and their houses of worship to continue with impunity, and also engaged in and tolerated hate speech and incitement to violence, the report adds.
The report also makes a mention of Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement calling the Muslims as termites which need to be eliminated. In its report, the commission has also mentioned about the failure of the governments of both national and different states to control the incidents of lynching since 2019.
The report has also taken cognizance of CAA, Cow Slaughter Laws, Muslim problems in Jammu and Kashmir.
The report comes at a time, when the Indian government is trying hard to create a positive image of the country in order to attract fresh investments in the country. The report has also recommended India of CPC designation.
Earlier, the BJP government has also been questioned by the Arabian royal family over the comments against the minority community.
