US Army Soldier posted at Germany tested positive for COVID-19

Date:

A Soldier assigned to U.S. Army Europe Headquarters in Wiesbaden, Germany, tested positive for the COVID-19 virus March 13. The Soldier is currently in isolation at his residence.

The Army has begun the process of tracing and contacting people with whom the Soldier might have had contact with over the past two weeks.

The headquarters and the garrison command are implementing all appropriate measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 elsewhere in the command, on the installation, or to the surrounding community.

“Our priority is maintaining the health and safety of our Soldiers, civilian employees and family members to ensure our readiness, while implementing appropriate measures alongside our host nation partners to prevent the spread of the virus,” said Lt. Gen. Christopher Cavoli, U.S. Army Europe commanding general.
