Tokyo |In a statement released on Monday, SoftBank Group Corp has said that Alibaba co-founder Jack Ma will resign from its board.
The group is proposing three new appointments to the board at its annual general meeting scheduled on June 25 which includes the group CFO Yoshimoto Goto.
After stepping down from Alibaba’s executive chairman position last September Ma has resigned from the group as he has pulled back from formal business roles to focus more on philanthropy.
Besides Yoshimoto Goto, SoftBank will propose the election of LIp-Bu-Tan, CEO of Cadence Design Systems and Yuko Kawamoto, professor at Waseda Business School, to the board.
