Well known Congress spokesperson Rajeev Gowda decided to interact with the general public and small and medium sized business holders via video conference today.
The session’s purpose was to listen to the voices of the people who are genuinely affected and concerned about the economic impact of Covid – 19.
The session was of an hour, where the Ex. IIM professor, interacted with people associated with various organisations, social services, and small and medium sized businesses.
On a lighter note, in a question by a businessman of fisheries, Rajeev Gowda said that he must sent him some prawns after Covid-19 gets over.
The businessman’s concern was over the intra – state transportation of fish products, which is presently inaccessible in Guwahati, Assam.
People from different parts of the country, shared their social and business innovations with Gowda ji, and were well appreciated for it.
A participant wanted to know, if the government could provide loans on cheaper rate of interest to MSME and whether Real Estate could get a boost during Covid-19 period.
Two other participants asked, if virtual tourism can be the next aventure , with regards to the tourism industry during Covid-19.
A participant also raised her concerns over the acute financial crisis being faced by the middle class section of the society as they neither fit in the category of privileged elite nor stagnant poverty to which Rajeev Gowda gave an encouraging response.
She also highlighted the economic hardship of the transgenders as they otherwise do not have any other alternative except for begging and prostitution and are being driven into an extraordinary situation now, during this pandemic.
Grievances were shared, suggestions were noted, concerns were taken care of and questions were answered , making the session an informative, intellectual and gratifying one.
