Pregnant Woman Died After Admission Denial by 5 Hospitals

Date:

A 20-year-old pregnant woman in Manipur allegedly refused to be admitted by five hospitals when she had problems, following which she died. The government has ordered an inquiry into the incident which stigmatizes humanity.

The family members of the woman claim that they visited all the hospitals till late Wednesday night, but they were told that doctors are not available, so the woman cannot be admitted. The pregnant was admitted to the government hospital at 2 pm in Senapati district.

But when he was suffering, the doctors referred him to another hospital at 10:30 pm. He was later brought to Imphal, where two government and three private hospitals refused to be admitted. The woman died early Thursday.
