For a new PNG connection, the consumer may have to pay 10 thousand rupees instead of 5 thousand rupees. Actually PNGRB has started the process of changing the refundable security deposit structure for domestic PNG connection. At present, the security deposit is maximum 5 thousand rupees. Three types of options have been prepared under the new change. If a company takes a security amount of Rs 10,000, then it will have to pay interest to the consumer on that amount.
At the same time, for those who do not want to take smart meters, pre-paid cards or other facilities, there will also be an option of refundable amount of Rs 5000. In fact, through the new changes, companies are being given the right to recover the amount from the customer if the cost increases. Opinions of all the parties have been sought till 27 July on the new option.
