Pharma Companies Sought Permission to Use Corona Vaccine in Emergency

Date:

In view of the uncontrolled conditions of corona infection in many states of the country, some pharmaceutical companies have sought permission to use the Covid-19 vaccine in emergencies.

Pharmaceutical companies have prepared a proposal in this regard, which needs to be approved by the central government. Discussions have already started in the National Task Force on the proposal. Meanwhile, for the first time after 48 days, the number of new patients has been more than those recovering in the country.

A member of the task force said, the use of vaccines is being considered in emergencies in the country. However, its documents have not been presented before the committee so far. “The use of the vaccine may be permitted on the basis of the study and review of the results of the first, second and third stages of the test,” he said.

However, full vigilance has to be taken because everyone in the country is waiting for the vaccine. If it is put to use in an emergency, market demand will increase rapidly.

“So far, permission has been sought for the use of AstraZeneca Company vaccine in an emergency,” said a senior Union Health Ministry official. The vaccine is in the final stages of a third trial.

Further completion may be considered based on sufficient followup data as the trial is completed. Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawala on Friday confirmed that he will apply for emergency use of the vaccine next month.

Indeed, no guidelines have yet been issued in India regarding the emergency use of Corona vaccines, while according to recently released guidelines in the US, all evidence of safety along with scientific evidence have been met only after vaccines Can be allowed to make it available to people in an emergency.

According to the study published in The New England Journal of Medicine, it is necessary to collect followup data for two months after all tests. Based on these, the safety of the vaccine can be known. If there is negligence in it, it can lead to a new disaster.

Specialist Teams to Visit States With Maximum Cases

Such states have been asked to expedite and increase the number of investigations so that all the cases can be traced in time and the people in contact with them can be investigated. Earlier, the Center sent high-level teams in Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Manipur.
