The country may receive 100 million doses of the Corona vaccine by next month. This has been claimed by Adar Poonawala, CEO of Serum Institute of India. The Serum Institute is Oxford University’s partner in making the vaccine. The vaccine is being prepared in collaboration with the pharmaceutical company Astrazenka Oxford University.
Poonawala said, the initial production of the vaccine will be for India and with its introduction, the system of vaccine delivery will be introduced. He said, after the approval of the vaccine early next year, doses will also be sent to other South Asian countries.
The Serum Institute will produce 100 million doses of the vaccine, with 500 million for India and 500 million for other South Asian countries. The Serum Institute has so far produced 40 million doses of the vaccine.
