In the midst of the growing explosion of COVID-19 in China, India has written a letter to NCDC and ICMR on behalf of Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan. It has been said in this letter that all the states will have to increase Genome Sequencing. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya presided over a high-level meeting in Delhi on Wednesday (December 21) regarding the situation in Corona.
During this, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Bharti Praveen Pawar was also present. Bharti Praveen Pawar said that Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya held a high-level meeting. The status of corona cases will be reviewed in this meeting.
In this meeting, Dr. VK Paul, member of NITI Aayog, Dr. N.K. Arora, ICMR DG Dr. Rajeev Behl, Dr. Rajesh Gokhale, Secretary, Department of Biotechnology and Dr. Atul Goyal, DGHS, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Center directs states to undertake genome sequencing of COVID positive samples to track down the variant.
The Union Health Secretary has written a letter requesting all the states to ensure that as far as possible, samples of all corona positive cases are sent to the INSACOG genome sequencing lab on a daily basis.
