The loss of the West Bengal election has hit hard on the Modi government & is unable to bear the loss. In the act of vengeance, the central government has asked West Bengal’s chief secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay to immediately report to Delhi .
Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyoypadhyay was to retire on 31st May. Due to the pandemic Chief Minister Mamata Banarjee had requested the central government for three months extension. His extension is crucial for Bengal as he has experience dealing with the covid pandemic and Amphan cyclone that hit Bengal last year. With Cyclone yaas creating havoc around Bengal Alapan’s presence will provide more assistance to the state government.
In the letter to the state government, the Ministry of personnel public grievances and pensions informed that the appointments committee approved the placement of the services of Banyopadhyay with the Government of India as per provision of Rule 6(1) of the Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954, with immediate effect.
On Friday, the deputation order was initiated & Alapan Banyoypadyay was requested to report to Delhi on 10 am 31st May Monday.
Reacting to the transfer TMC leader Suvendhu Sekhar Ray said that “How low the Modi-shah could stoop. Has this ever happened since Independence? Forced central deputation of a state chief secretary. All because of people of Bengal chose Mamata Banerjee with an overwhelming mandate.” he added.
Responding to the allegation BJP state general secretary Sayantan Basu stated that there was no politics and was just an “administrative decision.”
