He has also called for like-minded countries and international organizations like the United Nations, NATO, to come together on a platform to counter China. He said that if we kneel today, our future generations will depend upon its mercy.
Pompeo said that China has exposed our precious intellectual property and business strategy practices. He exploited the supply chain away from the US and added machines and slave workers to it. It has also made the world’s major waterways unsafe for international commerce.
He said that we know that the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is not a normal army. Its purpose is to maintain full rule of the leaders of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and to expand the Chinese Empire, not to protect the Chinese people.
This is the reason why our Defense Department of the US has accelerated its efforts, along with the freedom of navigation operations in the East and South China Sea and Taiwan Straits. We have created a space force to help curb Chinese aggression on the border.
Pompio said that this week we announced the closure of China’s consulate in Houston because it was the hub of espionage and intellectual property theft. Two weeks ago, we have focused on the international law in the South China Sea for the next eight years.
He said that we have called upon China to keep its nuclear capabilities in line with this, keeping in view the strategic realities of its time. If we do not ask now, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) will eventually destroy our freedom and destroy the rules-based system, which our societies have worked hard to make.
Although the United Nations, NATO, G7, G20, our joint economic, diplomatic and military power is certainly capable and sufficient to face this challenge. If we explicitly direct it in the right direction. Perhaps the time has come to create a new organization of like-minded countries and democracies.
