The new MERS vaccine may prove to be extremely effective in preventing corona infection. Researchers successfully tested this vaccine on a rat who was given a heavy dose of MERS(Middle East Respiratory Syndrome). MERS is very similar to the corona virus COVID-19 , which has caused havoc all over the world at this time.
Researchers at the US University of Georgia and the University of Iowa claimed that the vaccine used a harmful virus to induce an immune response in cells. After its testing, hopes of formulating the vaccine against other corona virus diseases, including COVID-19.
A new study indicates that para-influenza virus may prove to be a useful vaccine against the corona virus pandemic, said University of Iowa researcher Professor Paul McCray. Researchers are now planning to study animals using more para-influenza virus-based vaccines as both MERS and COVID-19 spread due to the corona virus.
