The charred dome of the Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara, a holy site of Sikhism in Pakistan, was damaged in the strong storm. The Kartarpur corridor was opened on the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
At the time of opening the corridor six months ago, eight new domes were installed by the Government of Pakistan. Four of their domes fell in a strong thunderstorm late Friday. Two domes were towards the museum, while one was to the Dyeri and one to the Devnisthan.
After this incident, people of Sikh community have expressed regret over the fall of this dome. There are allegations that the dome was of fiber, causing it to collapse in a strong thunderstorm.
On the other hand, late Saturday evening, Pakistan Cabinet Minister Chaudhary Fawad Hussain, while speaking on the tweet of Amritsar journalist Ravinder Singh, said that Minister Nur ul Haq has been ordered to investigate the matter.
