Kanpur Firing : 8 Policemen Died, 4 Injured

Eight policemen, including the CO, were killed in a fierce firing on a police team that went to catch vicious miscreants late in Kanpur. ADG Jai Narayan Singh has confirmed the incident. Four policemen are also injured. The incident is from Bikaru village of Chaubepur police station area in Kanpur. The police went to catch the vicious crook Vikas Dubey. Among those who died were CO Bilhaur Devendra Mishra and SO Shivrajpur Mahesh Yadav.

It has been told that in the firing of Vikas and his associates, many policemen including SO Bithoor, a daroga were also shot. Two soldiers were shot in the stomach who have been admitted to the Regency Hospital in critical condition. Police officers and the force of several police stations have reached the spot.

Many policemen have been admitted to the Regency in extremely critical condition and many policemen are missing.

What Actually Happened in Kanpur Firing Incident?

At around 12:30 am on Thursday night, the Bithur and Choubepur police together raided his house in Vikas Dubey’s village Bikaru. Bithoor SO Kaushalendra Pratap Singh said that Vikas and his 8, 10 colleagues started firing at the police. Bullets were fired inside the house and from the roofs.

One bullet from SO Kaushalendra hit the thigh and the other arm. In addition to this, seven policemen, including soldiers Ajay Sengar, Ajay Kashyap, soldiers Shivmurth, Daroga Prabhakar Pandey, home guard Jairam Patel were fired. Sanger and Shivamurth got shot in the stomach. Both are in critical condition. After the information, the force of several police stations reached the village and the injured were brought to the Regency Hospital.

Sources said that the manner in which the attack took place, it is feared that the miscreants had got a clue of the police raid. Due to which they prepared and attacked the police. Police said that Vikas Dubey is a dreaded criminal who was accused of killing BJP leader Santosh Shukla, who was the then Minister of State for Labor Contractor Board, by entering Shivli police station in 2003. He was later acquitted of the case. Apart from this, more than two dozen serious cases have been registered across the state.
