Amid the widespread CORONA pandemic throughout the world, a bad news is emerging in the media. About twenty one confirmed cases in greater London area have been reported from ISKCON UK, while five of their devotees passed away.

While the names of the devotees are still not clear, a news published by The Carvaan mentions the name of one of the deceased as Rameshvara Das, a devotee of ISKCON and a disciple of Bhakti Charu Swami.

Besides the devotees who passed away, many are critical including those who are in their thirties and forties.

It is being believed that the virus could have spread when about 1,000 devotees gathered at the funeral of one of the devotees, on March 12.

While the virus spread, no directives were issued against holding such events. It is said that the devotees and organizers followed all the guidelines of social distancing and sanitization, issued by the UK government.

Some of the social media reports have claimed that over 100 devotees of the temple have contracted the corona virus.

ISKCON temples in UK have been closed since March 16th, and all temple presidents and other leaders hold regular conference calls with GBC Praghosa, that have resulted in several protective measures.
