Despite tall claims by the government for controlling pandemic, India has jumped to third spot in corona count in the world surpassing Russia today.
As per the data available on the corona count website worldometer, India has surpassed Russia in the number of corona patients in the world and has jumped to third spot. India is now preceded by only USA and Brazil, which record at number 1 and number 2 spot respectively.
India added a record number of coronavirus cases on Sunday. In its daily morning update, the health ministry reported just under 25,000 cases and 613 deaths in 24 hours — the biggest daily spike since the first case was detected in late January
India has reached this spot despite the most strict lockdown in the world for almost two months and schools, metro trains in cities, cinemas, gyms and swimming pools remain closed and international flights are still grounded.
