Incident of Firing Reported at LAC

Tension Persists on LAC

There is news of firing on LAC in East Ladakh. News agency ANI has given this information by quoting sources. This is the same place where there has been a lot of fervor between the soldiers of India and China for the last three months. The soldiers of the two countries are standing in front of each other.

Indian and Chinese forces held another round of talks in eastern Ladakh on Sunday in an effort to ease tensions. Giving this information, the sources said that after the situation of confrontation between the two sides last week, the situation remains fragile due to delivery of additional troops and weapons.

The brigade commander-level talks that lasted nearly four hours near Chushul did not yield any concrete results. He said that the Indian Army is maintaining a high level of vigilance and is ready to deal with any situation in the area. According to sources, the situation in the area remains critical.

Significantly, tensions have increased once again after unsuccessful efforts by China on 29 August and 30 August to occupy the Indian territory on the southern shore of Pangong Lake in eastern Ladakh. India has increased vigor at strategic high altitude locations south of Pangong Lake.

In the wake of Chinese infiltration attempts, India has sent additional troops and deployed weapons in sensitive areas. India has increased its military presence in the region in view of China’s attempt to change the status quo on the southern bank of Pangong Lake.

On June 15, tensions between the two countries escalated when violent clashes between Indian and Chinese soldiers in the Galvan Valley and 20 Indian Army soldiers were martyred. The casualties were not reported in the clash from China, but according to the US intelligence report, 35 Chinese soldiers were killed.
