Pune’s MyLab Discovery Solutions, which manufactures disease detection solutions, got commercial production permission on Monday for its Kovid-19 (Corona Virus) test kit. It is the first company in the country to get such permission.The company said in a statement that its ‘MyLab Pathodetect COVID-19 Qualitative PCR Kit’, which examines the corona virus, has received commercial production permission from the Central Pharmaceutical Standards Control Organization (CDSCO).
Managing Director of the company Hasmukh Rawal said, “Emphasizing the cooperation from local and central government and ‘Make in India’, it has prepared a kit to test Kovid-19.” It has been developed in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization and the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
He said- it has been developed in record time. The company said that making the Corona virus test kit locally would reduce its current cost by a quarter.
