On Sunday, a woman who directly came in contact with a COVID-19 positive patient was tested positive. With this, the toll rose to 6 inor the states.
The 49 year old was a close contact of 65 year old patient who has returned from Saudi Arabia to Hyderabad and then returned to Visakhapatnam. He was admitted in a government hospital on March 17, where he was tested positive.
Authorities also tried to trace the contacts of two more COVID-19 positive patients who have returned from Paris and London and stayed with their families afterwards.
Officials said universal screening was on for the passengers reaching Visakhapatnam International Airport and sea ports. A total of 11,640 passengers and crew have so far been screened at these ports of entry.
