In Kerala and Tamil Nadu (Kerala-Tamilnaud), a high alert has been sounded in the state due to the possibility of Cyclone Burevi reaching till Friday. Authorities have opened more than 2000 relief camps to deal with the situation and have banned fishing on the coast till December 5.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that heavy rains and strong winds will prevail in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Idukki and Ernakulam districts from December 3 to 5. The IMD had said that a low pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal on Monday, due to which this storm came. Due to this, heavy rains are expected in southern Tamil Nadu and southern Kerala between December 2 and 3.
On the other hand, due to badwari, strong waves will rise in the sea along with the winds in the coastal areas of Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu. According to IMD, the cyclone will cross the coast of Tamil Nadu between Pamban and Kanyakumari on Thursday night or Friday morning.
IMD said that ‘Cyclone Burevi will emerge in the Gulf of Mannar during the next 3 hours. One can reach Pamban around noon and cross the South Tamil Nadu coast between Pamban and Kanyakumari on the 3rd or the morning of 4th.
At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday and assured him of all possible help from the Center. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told the media that we have discussed matters related to the cyclone with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
At the same time, Modi made Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K.K. Palaniswami was also assured of all possible help from the Center. In the context of a conversation with the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the Prime Minister tweeted, “We discussed the situation that is being caused by Cyclone Burwee in many parts of the state. The central government will provide all possible support to Tamil Nadu. I pray for the safety of the people living in the affected areas. ‘
