A 32-year-old man named Mohd Gulzar who was kept in a quarantine centre at Galgotia Engineering College in Greater Noida, jumped to death from the seventh floor of the quarantine centre, officials said. His test results were awaited.

The DM has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the matter. The inquiry will be conducted by the Additional District Magistrate (Administration).

A few days ago an order was issued from the government, that while in the Quarantine, if patients show signs of depression, counselors will be appointed to help and advise them so that they could come out of it. But looks like the order was not taken seriously till now, resulting in corona suspect committing suicide!!

The sad reality of our society is that patients of corona virus have been portrayed as criminals, with the patient’s family facing social exclusion. The fear of illness in the patient is higher than other diseases, while the probability of death is much lower.

It’s time, the government and media should come up and clear any such confusion in the minds of people.
