BJP Looses in RSS Bastion

Date:

The BJP has suffered a major setback in the Maharashtra Legislative Council elections. Congress Abhijeet Vanzari defeated BJP’s Sandeep Joshi from Nagpur by a margin of 18,910 votes. Let me tell you that the counting of votes of MLC elections started on Thursday, which lasted till Friday. Actually, this victory of the Congress candidate is being considered a big setback for the BJP, because for the last 58 years the BJP has been continuously winning this seat and it is considered to be the stronghold of the RSS.

Please tell that Gangadhar Fadnavis, the father of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has won this seat. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has represented this seat for 25 years.

Congress won by Eighteen Thousand Votes

Vanraj won by defeating his rival Joshi. He got a total of 61 thousand 701 votes, while Sandeep Joshi got 42 thousand 791 votes. Let us know that Abhijeet Vanzari was ahead by 12 thousand 707 votes at the end of the fourth round count late Thursday night. It was then that his supporters started celebrating. This defeat in Nagpur is being seen as the worst defeat of the BJP so far.

This is the second major setback for the BJP within a year. In this election of 6 seats of Maharashtra Legislative Council, BJP could win only one seat. The remaining seats were won by the Mahavikas Aghadi coalition of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress.
