Babri Demolition Case : SC Extends Deadline Till Sep 30

In the Ayodhya-based Babri structure demolition case, the Supreme Court has given a month’s time to the CBI Trial Court of Lucknow to pronounce its verdict. The Supreme Court has extended the time till September 30, extending the time for the trial court to hear the verdict. Explain that senior BJP leaders LK Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and other leaders have been accused in this case.

In the Ayodhya Babri demolition case, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader LK Advani had on July 24 (Friday) recorded his statement in front of a special judge through video conferencing. During this time the former Deputy Prime Minister of the country rejected all the allegations against him.

Significantly, on December 6, 1992, ‘kar sevaks’ demolished the structure in Ayodhya. He claimed that there used to be an ancient temple of Rama at the site of the mosque. Advani and Joshi were also among those who led the Ram temple movement.
