On Friday, waters in Assam flood entered 16 districts of the state. More than 2.53 lakh people have been affected by the floods in the state, while the death toll rose to 16 after one more person died. Officials gave this information.
Dhemaji is the most affected district in the state, and Tinsukia, Majuli and Dibrugarh have also been badly affected by the floods. According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) daily flood report, the flood in Dibrugarh killed another person.
Officials said that the Brahmaputra river and its tributaries are flowing above the danger mark in many places and due to this Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Biswanath, Udalguri, Darang, Baksa, Kokrajhar, Barpeta, Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat, Majuli, Sivasagar, The districts of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia have been affected by the floods.
The ASDMA said the district departments have established 142 relief camps and distribution centers in six districts, where more than 18,000 people have lived.
