6 UK Returnee Tested Positive for New Corona Variant

Date:

Six people have been infected with the new strain of Corona virus in India. All of these have been found in the grip of the UK variant genome. Samples of three of these were sent to NIMHANS in Bangalore, two to CCMB in Hyderabad and one to NIV in Pune for examination. They are all isolated in one room. The Health Ministry said that six people who came to India from Britain have been infected with the new strain of SARS-Cove-2 found in Britain.

Between 25 November and 23 December, around 33,000 passengers arrived at various Indian airports from Britain. All these passengers are being RT-PCR tested and tracked by the States / UTs. So far only 114 people have received Kovid-19 positive. This information has been given by the Ministry of Health.

The ministry said that the state governments have kept all these people in separate isolation rooms in the marked health care centers and the people in contact with them have also been kept in isolation. People traveling with these people, their family members and the people they came in contact with are being traced. Genome sequencing of other samples is being done.

The ministry said, “The situation is being closely monitored and states are being regularly advised to increase vigilance, prevent infection, increase screening and send samples to INSACOG laboratories.” The ministry said that it is noteworthy that the redesign of the virus first found in Britain has also been found in Denmark, Holland, Australia, Italy, Sweden, France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Japan, Lebanon and Singapore. .
