Five people died in suspicious condition in village Nagla Singhi of police station Hathras Gate area of Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh. The condition worsened of more than half a dozen people. Some of these have been sent to Aligarh for treatment.
It is being told that they have died after consuming alcohol. The administration is investigating the entire matter. On the evening of April 26, in the village Nagla Singhi of Thana Hathras Gate area, some people worshiped their family deity.
It is a practice that the people there offer liquor to the deity and receive it again as prasadam. It is alleged that Ramhari of the village sold 20 quarters of liquor to these people. The condition of many people deteriorated after consuming this alcohol.
Condition of one of these people worsened on Tuesday afternoon and died in the village. The people of the village buried him in the village itself. Situation of four other people worsened and died on Tuesday evening. Post mortem of three dead bodies has been done.
