Woman Gang-raped by Railway Employees at New Delhi Railway Station

A woman has been gang-raped by four men at the New Delhi railway station. The allegation is against the employees working in the Electricity Department of the Railways. The police have arrested the four accused. Police said that the victim called him at around 2.30 am and informed him about the matter. When the staff tried to find her, she could not be found. On contacting the mobile number, it was found that she is standing at platform number 8-9 of New Delhi railway station.

Immediately the SHO/NDRS along with the staff reached platform number 8-9, where the 30-year-old victim who called was standing. The victim, a resident of Faridabad, told that she is living separately from her husband for the last one year and her court case is going on for divorce. About two years ago, she came in contact with a boy through a common friend. He told her that he was a railway employee and could get him a job. The two started talking on the phone.

On Thursday, July 21, he called her over the phone to attend a party organized to celebrate his son’s birthday and to buy a new house. She came to Kirti Nagar by metro at around 10.30 pm, from where the accused took her to platform number 8-9 of New Delhi railway station. The accused asked him to sit in a hut built for the employees of the electricity department.

After this another friend of his came inside the hut and locked the door from inside. They took turns raping the woman. Two accomplices of the accused were guarding the room from outside. Taking immediate action in the matter, the police have registered an FIR under section 376D/342 of IPC. Within 2 hours of the call, all the four accused were apprehended and sent to judicial custody.
