Washington | USA reported New cases of Covid-19 rose by nearly 70,000 across the United States on Friday, according to a Reuters tally, over 70,000 cases of corona have been reported in the past 24 hours, which is the biggest boom ever since the outbreak of an epidemic in any country. According to John Hopkins University data, 3,183,856 people in America are suffering from corona so far.
The rising cases are setting a record for the third consecutive day as Walt Disney Co. stuck to its plans to reopen its flagship theme park in hard-hit Florida. A total of eight US states – Alaska, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Montana, Ohio, Utah and Wisconsin – also reached records for single-day infections. In Texas, another epicentre of Corona, Governor Greg Abbott warned on Friday to impose new guidelines of clampdown, if the rate of growth of virus can’t be controlled.
Earlier, on Friday, California announced to release near about 8,000 inmates early to slow the spread of the virus inside the facilities.
The Walt Disney Co. said the theme parks in Orlando would open on Saturday to a limited number of guests who along with employees would be required to wear masks and undergo temperature checks. The park also cancelled parades, firework displays and events that typically draw crowds.
Florida is one of the few states that does not disclose the number of hospitalized COVID patients. But more than four dozen Florida hospitals reported their intensive care units reached full capacity earlier this week.

The United Nations has said that an animal health specialist and an epidemiologist will work for future campaigns on their journey to find out how to spread the virus from animals to humans.
