Udta Bollywood’: Akali Dal MLA Manjinder singh Sirsa wants celebs to undergo dope test

Date:

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA Manjinder S Sirsa, who accused Bollywood celebrities of “flaunting their drugged state” during a party earlier, on Thursday said the celebs should take a dope test and share its report on Twitter. Sirsa made the comment while replying to a question posted by user on the micro-blogging website Twitter.

Sirsa, an MLA from Delhi’s Rajouri Garden on Tuesday shared a video on Twitter originally posted by producer-director Karan Johar, accusing the Bollywood A-listers featured in the video, of using drugs.

“UDTABollywood – Fiction vs Reality. Watch how the high and mighty of Bollywood proudly flaunt their druggist state!! I raise my voice against DrugAbuse by these stars. RT if you too feel disgusted.”

“Watch how the high and mighty of Bollywood proudly flaunt their drugged state!! I raise my voice against #DrugAbuse by these stars. RT if you too feel disgusted,” he tweeted alongside the video, using the hashtag ‘UDTABollywood’ on Tuesday.

On Thursday, the Sirsa responding to a Twitter user said, “since Ishita Yadav is so furiously defending the celebs and advocating their innocence in drugs. Let us all request Karan Johar, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone to get dope test done and share report on Twitter”.

Congress leader Milind Deora denied Sirsa’s charges and stating that his wife was also present at the party and that nobody was in a “drugged state”. Deora also asked Sirsa to refrain from spreading false news and spoiling the image of Bollywood stars and demanded an unconditional apology from the SAD leader.

“My wife was also present that evening (and is in the video). Nobody was in a “drugged state” so stop spreading lies & defaming people you don’t know! I hope you will show the courage to tender an unconditional apology,” Deora said in a statement on Twitter responding to Sirsa’s claim.

Sirsa responded to Deora’s statement stating he wasn’t aware that Deora’s family members were also present in the video.

“I can claim that Bollywood stars were taking drugs… No force in this world can make me apologise to these drug addicts. I am firm on my stand. They were taking drugs. They are spoiling the society. Such drug addicts belong to jail, not society. Therefore, the one who is asking me to apologise should go and check who were taking drugs,” Sirsa said.
