Uddhav Demands Special Trains For Migrant Labours

Mumbai| The Uddhav Thackeray government is seen in action to reach lakhs of migrant laborers trapped in Maharashtra due to the lockdown. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackrey has demanded from the Central Government on Tuesday night that special trains should be run to take these laborers to their homes. He said that if the central government feels that after April 30, the effect of corona virus is going to increase by May 15, then arrangements should be made to send laborers from other states trapped in Maharashtra to their homes.

The Chief Minister’s Office of Maharashtra has said that about 6 lakh migrant workers residing in the state are being provided accommodation and food. Medical facilities are also being provided to them in relief camps. Staying away from their family and home in such difficult times is torture for these laborers. Therefore, the Central Government needs to seriously consider taking them home.

A few days ago, thousands of migrant laborers took to the streets in violation of the lockdown due to rumors of train running. These workers said that they are facing difficulty in eating and drinking here so they want to go to their village. After this, the Maharashtra government had made necessary arrangements for the migrant laborers.
