Former West Bengal minister and Trinamool Congress leader Rabiranjan Chattopadhyay died at a Kolkata hospital on Tuesday after prolonged illness. He was 82 years old. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has condoled the death of Chattopadhyay. Health department sources gave this information.
Chattopadhyay, a two-time MLA from Vardhaman Dakshin, was suffering from diabetes and old age ailments. He was the Minister of Technical Education and Training, Science and Technology Department of the state in the Trinamool Congress government. Chattopadhyay was earlier a Bengali professor and worked for a long time for Vardhman University. After that went full time politics for TMC.
