The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered that migrant laborers be sent back to their home state within 15 days. Apart from this, all cases violating the lockdown orders filed against the migrants under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 should be withdrawn.
In its order, the court said, “The Center and states have to prepare a list for identifying migrant workers in a systematic manner. Employment relief for migrant laborers will be mapped and skill mapping.
The court further said that in case of demand for labor trains, the railway will provide trains within 24 hours. Also, the Railways will provide all schemes to the migrant workers and publicize them. The apex court said that all the states have been asked to submit their detailed affidavits regarding schemes, employment generation etc. Now the next hearing of the case will be on July 8.
