Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has slammed the Modi government over increasing oil prices. In his tweet, he has cornered the government over increase in taxes for petrol and diesel which has resulted in the increasing fuel prices, while tax cuts have been introduced for capitalists. Also, Rahul Gandhi has compared the crude oil prices during UPA rule and current BJP government along with the comparison of excise duty on petrol and diesel during the two governments.
Cornering the government over failure to control the petrol prices, Rahul Gandhi tweets: “Middle class and the poor pay for the gifts the crony capitalists get.”
In the meantime, petrol and diesel prices have escalated for the ninth consecutive day today. While the petrol price increased by 62 paise to Rs. 76.26 while diesel price was raised by 59 paise in Delhi.
