Taking a leap towards the social reform and complying to its promises made earlier, the Congress government in Punjab has announced 33% reservation for women at the direct recruitment in Punjab Civil Services.
The state cabinet has approved the Punjab Civil Services (Reservation of Posts for Women) Rules, 2020 which rules out the 33% reservation for women in recruitment to government posts as well as to the Boards and Corporations in Group A, B, C and D posts
Besides this, the cabinet has also given approval for the increase in the quota reserved for promotion to Clerk Cadre from Class IV or Class III from current 15% to 18%.
