The principal of a private school in Pune was attacked by members of a right wing organization. The principal is alleged to have installed CCTV in the toilet of the girl students. After the complaint of the family members, the matter has caught fire. The video of the incident is also going viral on social media. The relatives have also accused the principal of discriminating against Hindus. The education department has started an investigation into the matter.
Talegaon MIDC Police Inspector Ranjit Sawant said that the relatives of a girl student studying in the school had complained against the principal of the school. He told that the school has installed CCTV camera in the toilet of girl students. There prayers are offered according to the Bible. Whereas, holidays are not given on any Hindu festivals. Sawant says that the complaint of the family members is being investigated.
The relatives of the girl students said that there were many complaints against the school staff. puts pressure on the students. The students are made to keep benches here and there. Whenever we complained about this in the school, the principal used to postpone the matter. He never used to act on it. After this, when many family members reached the school to complain, we found a CCTV camera in the toilet of the girl students. Apart from this, the morning prayer in the school is conducted from the Bible. But Hindu Teej-festivals are not allowed to be celebrated.
On the complaint of the relatives, the officials of the State Education Department inspected the school. Department official SR Walunj said that during investigation it was found that a camera was installed in the toilet but it was removed before my visit. School personnel have acknowledged that cameras were installed in the restrooms. However, the school management says that they are not aware of this. They do not know with whose permission the camera has been installed. I will send the inquiry report to the education commissioner, after that action will be taken.
