Decomposed bodies of suspected COVID infected patients washed up on the shores of Buxar in Bihar today causing widespread panic. The local administration believes that the bodies came floating from Uttar Pradesh and belong to relatives of COVID patients who could not find space to cremate or bury them.
Since the bodies were bloated, officials believe they have been floating on the river for five to six days and could have been thrown from Allahabad or Bahraich.
Dogs were seen wading near the bodies which has created an atmosphere of fear in the town. People are terrified as they fear an explosion in COVID cases in the district. The villagers say that they also use the water for drinking.
Meanwhile, a blame game has started between the state of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar over the incident.
The Congress cited these bodies as proof of the untold deaths from COVID that the government is hiding.
