The bail of Stand up comedian Munawar Faruqui was rejected by the Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High court, who was arrested along with his aide Nalin Yadav on January 2 for allegedly hurting religious sentiments during a show.
The son of a BJP MLA had filed a complaint accusing Munawar Faruqui of passing indecent remarks about Hindu deities and Union Home Minister Amit Shah during a show. A local court had then sent them to judicial custody.
The high court had adjourned the hearing on Thursday after the police failed to produce the case diary. The bail pleas of Mr Faruqui and four other arrested stand-up comedians arrested in this case have already been rejected by lower courts.
