MHRD Dilutes Rules for Admissions in NITs

Date:

Union Human Resource and Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has said that the rules have been changed for admission to NIT (National Institute of Technology) and Center-aided technical institutes. He said that the process has been simplified for the students.

Pokhriyal said that given the circumstances arising out of the Corona virus, the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has decided that JEE Main 2020 pass candidates will need only 12th class pass certificate for admission to these institutions. Their marks will not be seen in this.

Earlier, students were required to pass the JEE Main Examination for admission to NITs and financial institutions funded by the Center, along with 75% marks in the 12th examination or in the top 20 percentile of the qualifying exam.
