Lockdown 2.0 : Centre Issues Guidelines

New Delhi| As announced by PM Narendra Modi in his yesterday’s address to the nation, Ministry of Home Affairs has come out with guidelines regarding the economic activities that will be allowed after March 20 and the activities which are restricted.

As per the order, the prohibited activities include travel by road, rail and air, operation of educational, training and coaching institutes, cinema halls, malls, shopping complexes, gymnasium, sports complexes, swimming pools, entertainment park, theatres, bars and similar places. Social, political, cultural, educational, religious gatherings are also prohibited. In funerals as well, congregation of not more than 20 people is permitted.

The activities related to medical and hospitalization, agriculture, fisheries, plantation, animal husbandry, banks will remain operational.

While banning educational institutes to open, focus has been laid on continuing the course of study using online teaching. MNREGA work will also be allowed as per the circular

Public utilities such as transport and distribution of petroleum products, postal services, operation and maintenance of telecommunication and internet services is also allowed.

Supply of essential goods including Kirana shops and PDS are allowed while maintaining social distancing.
