Not only listening to music while running or jogging makes one feel good but, now scientists say that listening to music while running also improves performance. Scientists have also created a song that can inspire people to run faster and run longer. This can increase people’s fitness.
The song Run With Me has been produced under the leadership of Brunel University psychologist Professor Costas Karagiorghis. Costas has said in the past that listening to the right music acts like the right medicine. Listening to this song increases the speed by five per cent during running and can reduce the fatigue experience by 15 per cent.
Professor Costas and his colleagues reviewed 139 prior researches. This research was conducted in the last 107 years on the effects of music on exercise. His review report has been published in the journal Psychological Bulletin. It states that listening to music during a workout increases excitement, improves physical performance, reduces tiredness experience, and increases oxygen intake.
Music and physical response are closely intertwined, Professor Costas said. Music helps maintain your workout rhythm. It makes the workout enjoyable and increases performance. Music also prepares you to workout. If you never feel like exercising, then listening to the right kind of music is motivating and you are ready to go for jogging immediately.
