In Gujarat’s Rojid village of Botad district, the death toll due to drinking spurious liquor is increasing continuously. Despite the prohibition of liquor in the state, so far 19 people have died in this tragedy and 30 people are hospitalized. On the other hand, the Bhupendra Patel government is constantly keeping an eye. On Monday, CM Patel held a high level meeting and directed the officers for further action.
A senior Gujarat Police official said on Monday night that the condition of some patients was critical. Police have detained 10 people in the case. Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and Ahmedabad Crime Branch have also joined the investigation.
According to police sources, 30 people are currently undergoing treatment in various hospitals, most of them are admitted to Sir Takhtsinhji Hospital in Bhavnagar. Some of them are in critical condition. A case of accidental death has been registered in this connection and some people have been taken into custody for questioning, police said.
