A massive fire broke out in the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) power house on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. Due to this, all sectors connected with Noida Power Corporation Limited (NPCL) have been switched off. NPCL used to get power from this 500 BMA transformer itself.
As soon as the information about the sudden blast and a huge fire broke out in the power house at 6:30 am, several trains of fire brigade have been rushed to the spot to control the fire.
According to Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Gautam Budh Nagar Arun Kumar Singh, the fire was reported around 8 am on Wednesday at the power house near the metro station located in Noida Sector 140. Four fire engines have been sent on the spot. Efforts are being made to overcome the fire. Surroundings have been evacuated.
There are no reports of any casualties in the fire yet. The cause of the accident has also not been known yet. However, the power supply of all sectors connected with NPCL has been diverted to the Pali Power Station. It is being told that it may take about 4 to 5 hours for the situation to become normal.
