Senior BJP leader and former CM Devendra Fadnavis said on Wednesday that two separate orders issued by the Maharashtra government regarding the distribution of food grains have created confusion among the owners and people of Public Distribution (PDS) shops. Maharashtra’s Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal had said last week that all ration card holders would be allowed to supply food grains for the next three months at a time.

The government later changed its decision to another order citing problems encountered in it. Fadnavis tweeted, ‘Two separate orders issued by the state government have caused a lot of confusion among ration shop owners and inconvenience to the people. In one order, it was asked to provide ration for three months and in the second, there is talk of food grains distribution on monthly basis.

The former Chief Minister said that the Center has clearly stated that people should get three months’ ration at a time for free. He said, ‘I request the Maharashtra government to clear this confusion.’
