Delhi Congress Slams Kejriwal Government for Massive Hike in Diesel Prices

The Delhi Congress on Tuesday hit out at the Arvind Kejriwal – led Delhi government after the Delhi government increased value added tax (VAT) on diesel to 30% from 16.75% and VAT on petrol to 30% from 27%. Which made diesel rates climbed to Rs. 69.39 a litre as against Rs. 62.29 per litre and petrol price rose to Rs.71.26 a litre as against Rs. 69.59 per litre.

Delhi Congress Chief Anil Chaudhary blamed Kejriwal government for choosing “Profit over People”. He also mentioned that kejriwal government has failed on all fronts during the Covid-19 outbreak and raising the fuel prices will burn the common man’s pocket in this hour of crisis.

Delhi Congress Vice President, Abhishek Dutt, demanded Kejriwal Government to withdraw the VAT (value-added tax) hike on fuel, stating it will lead to rise in the prices of essential items.

Delhi Congress also criticised Kejriwal government decision to open liquor shops during the lockdown as Delhi Congress incharge Shaktisinh Gohil, mentioned that the Delhi CM is more concerned about the revenue even when Covid-19 cases going up daily in the capital.

Delhi Congress President also mentioned that if Kejriwal government had done their job properly, Delhi would not have been in such an unsafe situation.
