The worldwide death toll due to the corona virus pandemic has risen to more than 2,00,000. Out of these, two-third are from the worst affected Europe. Johns Hopkins University has recently shared this information. Data compiled by the University’s Center for System Science and Engineering (CSSE) showed that a total of 2,08,131 people have died of the disease as of 10:45 pm Monday (April 27) (Indian time).
According to the data, US is now the most affected by the corona virus infection in the world where the number of deaths from corona has increased to 55,118 and the total number of infected is 9,72,969. Of these, 1,07,226 people have become infected. Italy is the second most affected country with corona where 1,99,414 people have been confirmed infected with 26,977 deaths, while 66,624 people have been diagnosed with the disease.
Similarly, 2,29,442 people have been infected in Spain, of which 23,521 have died. In France, 22,890 people have lost their lives due to corona virus infection and a total of 1,62,220 cases have been confirmed. A total of 1,54,038 people have been infected with 20,797 deaths in the UK. In China, where the infection first started in December, 4,637 people have died from corona and 83,912 have been infected.
On Monday, 96 people died of COVID-19 in Iran. However, the country said that for the first time in more than a month, fewer than 1,000 cases of infection were reported on a single day. Health Ministry spokesman Kianosh Jahanpore said that the number of deaths in the country reached 5,806 with the death of 96 patients in Iran in the last 24 hours.
