Central Govt Freezes Dearness Allowance Till July 2021

New Delhi| In order to fight against the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the central government has decided to cut the dearness allowance of Central Government Employees for the next 15 months till July 2021.  Even central government pensioners will not be paid Dearness Allowance till July 2021 starting from January 2020.

Also, the order reads that no arrears will be paid to the employees and the rate of DA, which will be paid after July, will be same as that of the ongoing DA.

“In view of the crisis arising out of COVID-19, it has been decided that the additional instalment of Dearness Allowance payable to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief to Central Government Pensioners, due from 1st January 2020 shall not be paid. The additional instalments of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief due from 1st July 2020 and 1st January 2021 shall also not be paid.”
