A corona positive case was found in the resident doctor of AIIMS Department of Physiology and his pregnant wife. Now the infection has also been confirmed in his brother. He has been admitted to the Trauma Center in AIIMS. The resident doctor, who infected two people from his own home, had neither traveled abroad nor was involved in the COVID medical team.
The health department had been looking for the cause of his infection for three days. According to the department, the resident doctor went to Markaz in Nizamuddin two weeks ago. However, the department is not aware of whether he attended the religious event or not. A few days after returning from Markaz, he had corona symptoms. Even then, he kept ignoring it.
He also joined the Farewell party just days before the retirement of a senior AIIMS professor. During this time, he used to commute from his Hauzrani residence to AIIMS by DTC bus. The department is now trying to trace all the people going to that DTC. Meanwhile, AIIMS management has not commented on the resident doctor’s visit to Nizamuddin Markaz.
